Construction of Trade Show Display
The efficacy and efficiency of attending a trade fair largely depends on your display. Your booth should command interest among potential customers and contacts. Thus, it may help to know some basics about the construction of trade show display.
A trade show display is usually composed of physical screens, banners, and other items carefully and strategically arranged in a temporary stall or booth during a convention or expo. Displays can vary tremendously according to size, cost, and complexity. Nevertheless, each is designed to be visually pleasing. Exhibitors are generally companies or businesspeople who want to sell or launch offerings, correct a market misconception, create an impression. In exchange, they rent spaces where they put their displays.
Trade show displays come in different types, namely tabletop, table covers, pipe and drape, pop-up, modular, panel and frame, portable hybrid, and custom-made. Tabletop is usually a small metal frame that can easily fold or collapse into a small carrying case. Table cover display refers is a custom-printed cover that the exhibitor can use for branding. Pipe and drape, often provided by organisers, is a metal frame of upright posts supported by base plates, with cross beams where the fabric drape is hung. Pop-up, also called pull-up or portable display, uses a flexible graphic panel affixed to a spring-loaded roller on which the panel winds for storage. To display, the panel is pulled up and secured. Modular and panel and frame displays are often made of lightweight components that are easy to assemble and use an entire booth space. Meanwhile, hybrid and custom displays are highly customisable, and usually do not require the help of assemblers.
